I Sworry
They looked up a little afraid
As if they could hide the question
The head was tilted, hung down
But the eyes, they were wide up
Knowing a wrong was done
And he was the one who did it
But not quite remembering why
The little fidgeting slowly begins
Agonizing over what to say now
Trying to find some small defense
He knows he didn't mean to do it
Rules forgotten in a tiny new mind
While his world danced in fantasy
Little but huge eyes look searchingly
As a playful heart beats ever so hard
Waiting to see what would happen now
In a moment of anger she had yelled
How many times had she told him
But as soon as she looked down on him
Standing there, wriggling, embarrassed
Beside him was another misted figure
Not quite there, like a ghostly shadow
Smiling up with the same questioning eyes
Slowly the recognition came to her
It was if it was a mirror, a mirror in time
Reflecting back her own image as a child
Eyes searching up for her own forgiveness
As she remembered what is was to be a child
Tears fell and her arms opened to enfold him
Broken physical things did not really matter
In the room and in the hearts was only love
The shadow figured smiled and twirled away
Returning to the place where childhood lives,
